Stevens provided surveying and civil engineering services for the redevelopment of a parcel of land that previously was an old lumber company. The owner wanted to demolish several of the existing buildings, and construct a new building and parking lot to meet the needs of the organization. Boundary and topographic surveys were completed to determine the limits of the property and locate existing features for design purposes. The parcel was low with much of the surrounding areas draining towards the site; therefore, storm water management was critical.
The funding source for the project required compliance with the St. Paul Sustainability Policy meeting the Overlay requirements for projects using the B3-Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines v.2.1. Stevens worked closely with the owner’s architect to design the site layout, parking and alleyways, grading, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and storm water management features.
Sub consultant to Architectural Alliance (architectural firm) to provide all civil site design services including site layout drawings, existing conditions plan, demolition plan, site plan, utility plan, grading plan, erosion control plan, construction details, storm water management plan, technical specifications, NPDES Grading Permit with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and construction services.
