TOWN OF TROY, WISCONSIN
Stevens Engineers provided civil engineering services for a 54 lot rural single-family residential neighborhood in Troy Township, Wisconsin. The owner acquired the project from another developer. We reviewed the project and recommended several improvements to the construction documents. These included changes to the road grades to balance the earthwork and deal with rock excavation, and improvements to the stormwater plan to better control stormwater runoff. The owner was very conscious of the project cost as well.
We worked closely with the owner and a contractor to design cost-effective improvements. We coordinated these changes with the Town's engineer and a representative of the County to assure acceptance on a fast-track plan revision to construction schedule.
The project included:
- Analysis of a variety of plan changes recommended by Stevens to improve road grades, erosion control and stormwater management.
- Preparation of plans and specifications to comply with Town standards for grading, erosion control, storm sewer and roads.
- Negotiations with contractors to achieve acceptable bids and construction schedule.
