In 1993, Stevens Engineers was selected by the City of Hudson to prepare report on the feasibility of developing a new business park. The report recommended a park of up to 500 acres in the vicinity of Tower Road and Highway 35. Two years later, the St. Croix Business Park Corporation was formed by the City and Xcel Energy. The SCBP Corp. retained Stevens to prepare construction documents for the first 80- acre phase of the Business Park. Through several phases and projects, the SCBP Corp. and Stevens continues to work together to develop the current total of about 300 acres of prime industrial and business sites.
Current SCBP businesses include General Motors, Cardinal Health, Johnson Controls, and others.
The project includes:

  • Preparation of bidding and construction documents for soil correction, mass grading sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water mains.
  • Continued feasibility studies for phased development and alternatives.
  • Applications for permits for sanitary sewer, water mains, highway utility crossings and grading.
  • Studied water and sewer flows to verify development of additional phases without overloading existing infrastructure.
  • Assistance with evaluating options to meet prospective businesses needs with development alternatives.
  • Fast-track design and construction to meet prospective business needs and assure successful land sales.
