With the deterioration of the existing single-softball field in the City of Amery, the Amery Softball Association hired Stevens Engineers to design a two-ballfield complex on property donated by the City.
Stevens worked closely with the City to identify an appropriate location for the facility.  Although the selected property, adjacent to the existing school complex, was a good location; the 4 acre site was barely large enough to fit both regulation sized ball fields and all the desired ammenities.  In addition, the ground was almost too flat.   Using their experience with recreational facilities, Stevens designed a complex that fit the site, was well drained, and met all the needs and expectations of the Softball Association and the City.
Accurate cost estimates for the project assisted the Association in their fundraising efforts.
Phase 1 of the project included:
  • two regulation sized ball fields;
  • 63 stall parking lot;
  • walking trail; and
  • utilities for a future concession and restroom building.
